MK Uri Ariel (National Union) also had something to say about Sharon's remarks:
"They represent a further deterioration - for even if Sharon thinks that nothing will come of it because the terrorism will continue and will block the process, still, this method of counting on the terrorists is mistaken.
"Secondly, just the very fact that he said it is a mistake. For someone will come after Sharon a few years from now, and say, 'This is what Sharon agreed to, so what do you want from me?' ... He is leading us into a very dangerous process, both from the standpoint of our homeland and of our security…"
Asked what his party plans to do about it, Ariel said, "We plan to meet with Sharon on this matter this week... I told my party colleagues that we have to emphasize that we can't be half-partners in the government: we help the government pass this very severe economic plan, but with regard to political matters we're not considered full partners. We have to make it quite clear that this cannot continue."
