Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana blamed the global rise of antisemitism since the October 7 massacre for the deadly mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney, Australia today (Sunday).
"The horrific terrorist attack at Bondi Beach targeting Jews celebrating Hanukkah is a reprehensible, antisemitic crime," Ohana stated.
"This is what 'Globalize the Intifada' looks like. A bloodied holiday for Jews," he said.
"On behalf of the Knesset, I send my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and my heartfelt wishes for the speedy recovery of those who were wounded.
"Wherever antisemitism is not confronted head-on, it will transform into terrorism against Jews. The best time to act was when it started. The second-best time is NOW," the Speaker concluded.
