In an interview with The New York Times, former Prime Minister Ehud Barak addressed his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and categorically denied that Epstein ever offered him a woman or a child.
Epstein, a Jewish-American businessman, was convicted of sex crimes and suspected of pedophilia before he died by suicide in prison in 2019.
The interviewer asked Barak directly whether Epstein had ever arranged for a woman or minor for him. Barak denied it emphatically, saying, "No, never." He further added, "I now deeply regret having any association with him."
According to Barak, the relationship involved attending breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Epstein's home in New York, where "respected American public figures" were also present.
Barak emphasized that he severed all connections with Epstein once he became aware of his "inappropriate behavior." "I certainly never participated in anything like that," Barak stated.
