An unusual incident occurred at the Capitol in Washington today (Thursday), when anti-Israel activists yelled at the Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, and the Head of the Binyamin Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council, Yisrael Ganz.
The incident took place after a historic discussion in the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, the first-ever session addressing Judea and Samaria.
The activists approached the two men, calling them "supporters of genocide" and shouting harsh slogans against the State of Israel. Local police were called to the scene and escorted Dagan and Ganz, who continued to another meeting in Congress.
Dagan responded to the activists, saying, "You are the evil, and we are the justice. You are the past, and we are the future. We will defeat you and apply sovereignty."
Ganz said: "We came to Congress for a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind discussion on Judea and Samaria, and we presented our historical right to our ancestral land. The discussion, in which many speakers made it clear that Judea and Samaria are an inseparable part of the Land of Israel, and where we participated as honored guests, proves the legitimacy Judea and Samaria are receiving today. The fact that we are succeeding causes hysteria and a loss of control among pro-Palestinian activists, who fear the broad support Judea and Samaria are gaining."
He clarified: "We will not be deterred by anti-Semitic activists who are losing their minds because of our just position - we will continue to act until sovereignty is applied to all the land of Israel."
Dagan responded to the incident: "This is a moral bankruptcy of those who try, through violence and anti-Semitic incitement, to silence the Zionist and Jewish voice. We will not be deterred or frightened by the intimidation of these terror supporters. We came to represent the settlers and the State of Israel, and to advance sovereignty in front of hundreds of senior officials in the U.S. who share this important vision with us. We will continue to come again and again and will not be deterred by terror."
