The police in Rehovot opened an investigation early Thursday morning after a resident shot an illegal infiltrator who attempted to steal his car, severely wounding him.
An initial investigation found that the resident, a man in his 60s, saw two minorities entering his vehicle, and decided to open fire after he said he felt in immediate danger. He hit one of the thieves and severely wounded him.
The second thief, who attempted to flee after the shooting, was arrested by police.
