
An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck the city of Anchorage, Alaska today (Thursday), during Thanksgiving morning, the US Geological Survey announced.
The earthquake struck at 8:11 am local time, 43 miles underground. The epicenter was located seven miles west-northwest of Susitna, Alaska.
No damage has been reported from the earthquake as of press time, and no tsunami warning has been issued.
KTUU TV reported that the earthquake was the largest to strike the area since 2021.
