Former IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral (Ret.) Daniel Hagari is making his first steps in the business sector.
Hagari was appointed on Thursday as a director in the Orian shipping company, which is owned by businessman Chen Lamdan.
Hagari is flanked on the company's board by the former Commander of the Israeli Air Force, Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin.
Hagari ended his term as spokesman about a year and a half ago and has been on discharge leave since then. The appointment indicates his intention to join the business sector and not enter politics.
He previously held senior roles in the IDF, including Head of the Navy’s Operations Division, Commander of Shayetet 13, Assistant to the Chief of Staff, Head of the Navy’s Operations Directorate, and, most recently, IDF Spokesperson during the Iron Swords war.
Orion, a publicly traded company, completed an equity raise of 25 million shekels several months ago through a share issuance to more than ten investors.
