An eight-year-old girl was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a bus in Givat Harel. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics who were called to the scene were forced to pronounce her dead.
Shaul Malka, a senior MDA medic, said: “When we arrived at the scene, we immediately understood we were facing a horrific road accident. The pedestrian, an eight-year-old girl, was trapped underneath the bus."
"We began conducting medical checks and saw that she showed no signs of life and was suffering from very severe multi-system trauma. Unfortunately, we had to pronounce her dead at the scene.”
Last Thursday, seven-year-old Neta Halevi was run over and killed while riding his bicycle in the Shdemot Mehola community in the Jordan Valley. MDA teams performed prolonged resuscitation efforts but ultimately had to declare him dead.
The investigation showed that the child had been riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on his way to the student transport pickup, fell onto the road, and was struck by a driver passing by at that moment.
