Even as U.S. and British forces continue their efforts to rid Iraq of its terrorist leadership, Palestinian Authority terrorists do not let up on their own attacks against Israelis. They fired two Kassam rockets at Israeli targets today - one in the Negev city of Sderot and the other in Gush Katif, on the southern Mediterranean coast - and fired successive mortar shells at another Gush Katif town. One woman is suffering from shock in Sderot as a result. In addition, three anti-tank missiles were fired at an IDF outpost near N'vei Dekalim, the largest community in Gush Katif, during the night, and today PLO terrorists engaged IDF soldiers along the Egypt-Israel border
in a heavy gun battle; there were no reports of injuries.
Following the attacks, an IDF armored force entered northern Gaza, and began
combing the area between Beit Hanoun and Jebalya. So far, forces have found a primed Qassam rocket and launcher, apparently abandoned by the terrorists at the approach of the Israeli army. During the operation, enemy forces set off several explosive devices, including one that damaged an army bulldozer, and an Israeli soldier was slightly injured when Arab gunmen opened fire on his unit.
Meanwhile, in the north, Hizbullah terrorists fired anti-aircraft rounds in the eastern sector of the Israeli border with Lebanon, over Kiryat Shemonah. No one was hurt.
