Justice Minister Yosef (Tommy) Lapid of the Shinui party has canceled a planned meeting with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer. Fischer refused to meet with Lapid in his eastern Jerusalem office, and Lapid in turn refused to meet with him anywhere else. Lapid explained that while he does not have anything personally against Fischer, all of Jerusalem is the sovereign capital of the State of Israel, and that the German minister will not define which areas are and are not under Israeli jurisdiction.
