Two terrorist attacks were apparently thwarted in action over the past 24 hours. Members of the civil emergency team in Kiryat Arba noticed one or more terrorists trying to cut through the southern fence of Kiryat Arba, outside Hevron, last night. Even before the army had arrived on the scene, at least one of the terrorists was reported dead, shot by the alert civilian team. In the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo today, a Border Guard patrol told an Arab youth carrying a bag to stop and identify himself. He threw the bag down and ran away; inside the bag were found several grenades.

IDF soldiers completed a counter-terrorism operation in the Muassi neighborhood of PA-controlled central Gaza. The forces took 35 suspects into custody, and one terrorist was shot and killed after he fired an anti-tank rocket at soldiers.

The Kfar Saba Magistrates Court sentenced a Breslover Hassid to a five-month suspended sentence and a 1,500-shekel fine for having visited Joseph's Tomb this past Saturday night. Army orders forbid Jews from entering the holy site in Shechem without a permit. A number of worshipers who visited the holy site last night - which the IDF abandoned to the PA terrorists at the beginning of the Oslo War 2.5 years ago - were attacked by rock-throwing Arabs, and one was lightly hurt.
