Fatah-Tanzim terrorist leader Marwan Barghouti, whose trial in Israel got underway in earnest today, seemed to make a good point in his defense this morning. "Abu Mazen is a Prime Minister, and I'm a terrorist?!" he asked incredulously. His trial will be held on a daily basis, beginning today. Dozens of terrorist-victim family members appeared to agree with at least part of his statement when they filed charges today with the Jerusalem Police against the new Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. They presented copies of direct quotes by Abu Mazen in which he encouraged terrorism against Israelis.

IDF forces arrested terrorist chief Barghouti a year ago in Ramallah. Among the murderous exploits for which he is being charged are the following:

* the shooting attack at a Bar Mitzvah in Hadera in January 2002 in which six Israelis were murdered;

* the murder of a Greek Orthodox monk on the highway to Maaleh Adumim in June 2001;

* the shooting spree in downtown Jerusalem the same month in which two women were killed;

* three attacks in February 2002 in which two Israelis were murdered and two policemen were wounded;

* the murder of three Jews at a Tel Aviv restaurant,

and many other attempted suicide attack murder attempts.
