A 49-year-old woman was lightly injured on Saturday after a suspicious vehicle collided with her car at the Ras Bidu Checkpoint near Jerusalem.
The incident is being investigated as a suspected terror attack. The suspect was apprehended after a pursuit, and the Shin Bet is involved in the investigation.
The police stated that the suspicious vehicle approached the checkpoint quickly and hit the victim's car, which was stopped. The suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee, but was apprehended after a chase, during which the soldiers fired in the air.
Magen David Adom reported that EMTs and paramedics tended to the victim at the scene and transported her to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with head and limb injuries. MDA paramedic Evyatar Yamin recounted: "They brought us the woman who was injured in the incident after she had been in her vehicle when another car hit it. We provided her with medical treatment and evacuated her to the hospital in mild condition."
The police noted that after colliding with the vehicle, the suspect got out of his car and fled on foot toward the town of Biddu. It was Border Police officers who apprehended him. There were no injuries among the forces, and the arrested suspect was transferred for further investigation by the security services.
