
Two men have been arrested by the FBI after a bomb was found under a Fox 13 News vehicle in Salt Lake City, Utah, Fox 13 reported.
The explosive device was found on Friday, September 12, two days after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University.
A Unified Fire Authority Investigations officer wrote that the device was lit but "failed to function as designed."
According to authorities, the device constituted a "significant threat to public safety."
The two suspects were named as Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31. They face charges of attempted aggravated arson, threat of terrorism, and possession of weapons of mass destruction.
A search of their home found two hoax weapons of mass destruction, two firearms, bomb-making tools, and illegal narcotics.
