Four IDF soldiers were lightly wounded around midnight last night when their tank hit a 100-kilogram explosive device and overturned as a result. The tank was on a mission in southern Gaza, on the route known as Philadelphia, when the incident occurred. Medics administered medical treatment to the four on the spot.

Two other soldiers were lightly wounded in Shechem while killing a senior terrorist, and another soldier was lightly hurt in Ramallah while capturing a terrorist who fired at his unit.

A Fatah Tanzim terrorist dressed as a woman was captured last night as he attempted to evade capture in a Tul Karem neighborhood. IDF units are searching the area for terrorists, following the discovery of an explosives lab in Jaljulya and the suicide attack in Netanya; both occurred this week and both were organized by Tul Karem terrorists. The troops emptied out much of the neighborhood yesterday, instructing 1,000 males between the ages of 15-40 to leave their homes and not return for three days. Twelve terrorists were arrested, including three "with blood on their hands."

The IDF explained that it was forced to take this action because of the terrorists hiding out in the area. "Responsibility for the inconvenience the residents are now experiencing should be placed on the terrorists, not on the army," the IDF announcement stated.

IDF forces also took action in southern Gaza last night, an area that has seen an increase in hostile activities against Israeli targets - including explosives, anti-tank missiles, and grenades. The forces also destroyed four abandoned buildings suspected of being used to conceal the entrances to underground arms-smuggling tunnels. Six PA Arabs were killed in the counter-terrorism offensives during exchanges of fire with terrorists.

Two mortar shells fired from the Palestinian Authority fell on the Gush Katif town of Morag last night. One landed in the area of the Gush Katif hothouses, and the second landed next to a group of Arab workers in the vicinity. No one was hurt in the shelling.
