An Israeli shepherd in his 20s was lightly wounded on Thursday morning near Malachei Hashalom in the Shilo area, apparently from gunfire.
The IDF stated that a report was received about gunfire towards a group of Israeli shepherds and that forces were on their way to the scene.
The incident occurred on state-owned land approximately 300 meters from the Alon Highway between the communities of Adei Ad and Malachei Hashalom, in an area that has seen several attacks over the years. The terrorist apparently came from the village of al-Mughayyir. He fired one shot at the shepherds, and then the pistol jammed.
He attempted to attack them, but they managed to repel him using the utility vehicle that was provided to them as part of the security equipment received from the Ministry of Settlement Affairs and the Settlement Division.
IDF troops are surrounding the village of al-Mughayyir in an attempt to find the terrorist.
The Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service updated that its teams were tending to a shepherd who was lightly wounded by the gunfire.
