Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for an objective committee to investigate the failures which led to the October 7 massacre.

In an interview on British podcast "Triggernometry," Netanyahu outlined how he believes such a committee should operate, stressing that it would need to be objective and investigate everyone - from the Prime Minister down to the last government officials as well as military personnel.

He reiterated that all the intelligence signals he received indicated that Hamas was deterred and had no plans to launch an attack.

Netanyahu recalled the initial moments of October 7th: At 6:20 AM, he received a call from his military secretary, who informed him that Hamas had invaded Israel. The first question Netanyahu then asked was whether this was a large-scale invasion, to which he received a response in the affirmative. He then asked if it was possible to eliminate Hamas' leaders. Following this, Netanyahu arrived at the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv, called for a reserve mobilization, and declared war.

Netanyahu also stressed that the scenes from October 7 were unlike any seen since the Holocaust. Israel is fighting not only for its survival, he emphasized, but also for the survival of Western society, which is threatened by barbarians.

Regarding Gaza, Netanyahu stressed that Hamas serves as part of Iran's axis of terror, recalling that Iran supports both Hamas and the Hezbollah terror group on Israel's northern border. The attack, he noted, was coordinated and well-planned, and aimed to destroy Israel.
