Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar gave a press conference today regarding the terror attack in which two Israeli Embassy staff - Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli Embassy employee in the US, and his girlfriend Sara Milgrim - in Washington D.C. were murdered.

"I spoke with Yaron's father and told him that his son was a warrior on the diplomatic front, who fell just like a soldier on the battlefield," Sa'ar began. "This was a direct result of the incitement against Israelis we have seen since the October 7th massacre. Israeli embassies around the world have been the targets of increased threats, with an emphasis on Europe."

"I spoke about this recently to say that I was concerned something like this would happen, and it did. Our list of fallen foreign service workers has grown today. The Foreign Ministry, and embassies around the world, will lower our flags to half mast today."

"The incitement against Israel, the modern blood libel, today comes from leaders and officials in many countries, especially in Europe. This is what happens when leaders give in to and serve terrorism. I say to these leaders to stop the incitement against Israel, and to strengthen Israel in its historic struggle."

"I spoke to our ambassador to the USA, Dr. Yechiel Leiter, and to the USA's ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee. The most senior officials in American law enforcement are closely monitoring this case, and I thank them for it."

"The new anti-semitism is also present on social media and campuses. We are committed to fighting it with all our might."

"Hamas started this war, and is responsible for its continuation and the accompanying suffering of Israelis and Palestinians. Israelis, hold your heads high. No other country would have recovered after what befell us, and what we are still enduring."
