Two Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the Israeli community of Katzir and attacked civilian targets with grenades and gunfire - but hurt no one. The attack began around 6:30 this morning, when the two terrorists made their way to the central entrance of Katzir - located between the northern Shomron and the Hadera-Afula highway - and began shooting at passing cars. IDF soldiers and Border Guardsmen on the scene fired at the terrorists, killing one of them. The other would-be murderer was able to escape, however, towards the Arab villages in the area. Residents of Katzir have been asked to remain in their homes, and security forces are pursuing the terrorists.
Katzir, which is encircled by a fence, had never been the target of a terrorist attack before today. A year ago, three Jews were wounded when terrorists opened fire at their car on the approach road to Katzir.
