Volunteers from several organizations are helping the elderly and infirm seal rooms in their homes. Young volunteers from the Yad Sarah organization, together with youth of the Scouts movement, sealed dozens of such rooms yesterday. Ezer Mizion - the Israel Health Support Organization - has telephone and e-mail help lines for English speakers in need of war-related assistance. Volunteers from the organization are available to seal rooms, to stay with the sick and handicapped in homes and hospitals, and to teach people how to properly use their gas masks and protective equipment. Fifteen new immigrants from the Beit Canada absorption center in Jerusalem worked with 13 teenagers today, preparing sealed room areas in Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital.



Volunteers from Livnot U'Lehibanot distributed 100 Purim baskets to families of terror victims in the Jerusalem area yesterday. Helping in the distribution were 100 students from YU and Stern College, who came to Israel for Purim to show solidarity with Israel during this Gulf War period. The YU/Stern volunteers will be working next week to help renovate houses for the needy and make food baskets at the Yad Eliezer food bank.
