Arab attackers fired two anti-tank missiles at an Israeli position on the Egypt-Israel border in Gaza during the night, and IDF soldiers nearby came under gunfire from the PA-controlled areas. No one was hurt, and Israeli forces returned fire. An army position in northern Gaza, on the Karni-Netzarim road, was targeted by gunfire last night; no injuries. Yesterday afternoon, a bus driver traveling on the Jerusalem-Maaleh Adumim highway was lightly wounded in a stone-throwing attack, and was taken to a Jerusalem hospital. Yesterday morning, gunfire was directed at the Sivan military base south of PA-controlled Ramallah; no injuries.

In the north, a Hizbullah rocket attack in the western sector last night did not result in injuries. Israel, not anxious to attract attention as the war with Iraq looms, did not retaliate. The IDF has transferred special units to the northern border, and the army is on heightened alert in the Har Dov area.
