In a move reminiscent of the Nazi regime in the 1930\'s, the Moslem government of Afghanistan has ordered its non-Moslem citizens - mostly Hindus - to wear an identifying cloth. The Simon Wiesenthal Center announced has condemned the act, and called upon the international community to \"raise its voice against these discriminatory measures that are about to take effect under the Taliban regime.\" Dr. Ephraim Zuroff, director of the Israeli branch of the Center, said that the Nazis forced Jews to wear a yellow star as a step prior to the implementation of the Final Solution.

It has not yet been decided what sort of an identity label Hindus will have to wear, nor when the edict will take effect. Mohammed Wali, Afghanistan\'s religious-police minister, explained why this latest Taliban edict is in line with Islam: \"Religious minorities living in an Islamic state must be identified,\'\' he said.
