A film produced by the Ministry of Tourism has won first prize in an international contest for tourism films. The contest, which took place several weeks ago in New York, followed the example of previous such film festivals in the Czech Republic and Poland, where Israel's Tourism Ministry films also finished in first place.

The latest winner, nine minutes long, portrays Israel using a combination of animated clay figures and regular photos. It shows a family in which each member is interested in a different type of vacation, yet finds that Israel can fill the bill for all of them. Israel is shown to be able to provide variety, tradition, history, leisure, technology, the opportunity to meet new people of different cultures, and religious experiences. Mickey Hirschfeld, head of the Marketing Publications Wing in the Tourism Ministry, said, "The film's greatness lies in the way it allows for the expression of emotions, together with humor. We have succeeded in presenting the nice sides of Israel to potential tourists."
