An item in the Israeli Globes financial newspaper reports that Israel has placed 12 out of 82 rated countries for government and private flexibility in terms of networked readiness. The study cited, the Global Information Technology Report for 2002-03, prepared by the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, and the Institut European d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD), is a “comprehensive assessment of networked readiness and its effects on economic growth and productivity.... intended to assist governments in creating technology policies to assist them in competing on a global scale,” according to Globes.

Israel’s placement in the report was ahead of nations such as Switzerland, Norway, Japan, and Belgium. The United States was ranked second, after Finland, and the other top twelve nations are Singapore, Sweden, Iceland, Canada, Great Britain, Denmark, Taiwan, Germany and the Netherlands.
