Abu Mazen, the leading candidate for Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority and a man seen by Israel and many others around the world as an acceptable negotiations partner, has expressed public support for terrorism against the Jews of Yesha. In an interview with the London-based Arabic paper A-Sharq al-Aussat, Abu Mazen justified the use of weapons against Jewish residents of Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
Arutz-7 correspondent Haggai Huberman explained today that though Abu Mazen" called a couple of weeks ago for the end of the armed fighting - what he calls the intifada - and explained why it has caused harm to the PA, he can justify this sudden reversal by saying that the murder of 'settlers' is not terrorism, but rather 'legitimate resistance to the occupation.' This is the same Abu Mazen who visited Sharon's farm only two weeks ago - the unofficial #2 in the Palestinian Authority."
Asked what are Abu Mazen's chances of becoming Prime Minister in the PA, Huberman said, "It appears as if he will be the Prime Minister, but you can never know; it's possible that Arafat will suddenly raise up Nabil Shaath at Abu Mazen's expense, or the opposite. It is not true that Abu Mazen ever ceded the Right of Return [for the Arabs of 1948]; only Sari Nusseibeh did."
