A trip to Mount Tzin and the bulboose field includes flora, fauna, and the astounding nature reserve beneath the hill. On the way, you may spot some ibex - strong, muscular creatures - whose presence represents the triumph of nature conservation in Israel. In the past, Bedouin would ambush the herds near water sources when they came to drink, and by the 1950's Israel's ibex were on the verge of extinction. Laws protecting the ibex passed during the latter part of the 20th century have completely changed the picture. Today large herds of ibex roam the country's desert regions.
