Shulamit, a bride from Jerusalem, chose to publicize her story after facing obstacles that threatened to cancel her wedding. She grew up in a dormitory after her parents separated. She had previously lived in poverty and was kicked out of 10 homes after being unable to pay rent.

Although her wedding date is in 2 weeks, nothing has been booked, forcing her to cancel her wedding against her will. She doesn’t have enough funds of her own to pay for the wedding, and cannot rely on her parents for help.

In a conversation with a friend, Shulamit shared her devastation. “What kept me going while I was living with no family was my future home, and I can’t believe this might be taken away from me now.” She had gone for therapy and picked herself up many times, with no one to cheer her on. Tragically, she has no support now either.

With the endorsement of public figures, she set up a crowdfunding page, in an attempt to save her marriage. “I know that this might be my only chance to get married, please don’t let this be taken away from me! I desperately need help with paying for my wedding, so I can start my new life with dignity. Every donation means the world to me - it’s another guest I can invite and another crucial wedding purchase I can make.”

Readers can help Shulamit get married with dignity by contributing to wedding costs on the campaign page. Donations are needed for the basic hall, catering for guests, and to help the young couple set up their new home.
