The recent heavy rains in the north have significantly contributed to the level of the Kinneret Sea, the nation's primary source of water. Forty centimeters were added over the weekend, and the sea now stands at 212.33 meters below sea level. This is still some 3.5 meters below the optimal level, however, and as one eyewitness told Arutz-7, the shoreline is still far from its natural location.

Four meters (4.3 yards) of snow have accumulated atop of Mt. Hermon ski resort - and no end to the "weather" is yet in sight. Today's local rains will develop into thunderstorms tomorrow, and are expected to stop only on Thursday. Heavy snow in the Golan, and possibly the Galilee and even Jerusalem, is also predicted for the coming days. Jerusalem city officials announced that emergency services in the capital are prepared in the event of a snowstorm.
