The recent heavy rains in the north have significantly contributed to the level of the Kinneret Sea, the nation's primary source of water. Forty centimeters were added over the weekend, and the sea now stands at 212.33 meters below sea level. Four meters (4.3 yards) of snow have accumulated atop of Mt. Hermon ski resort - and no end to the "weather" is yet in sight. Today's local rains will develop into thunderstorms tomorrow, and are expected to stop only on Wednesday or Thursday. Heavy snow in the Golan and possibly the Galilee is also predicted for the coming days.
