
Due to suspicions of a security incident near Route 12 in the Eilat area in southern Israel, police forces, including from the Yassam unit, Border Police, and IDF, are closing off the access roads to Eilat.
According to Israel Hayom, security forces are searching the area and have closed off Routes 90 and 40, due to suspicions that there was an infiltration of employment-seekers or terrorists from Egypt.
Police have requested that the public refrain from traveling to the area, and report any sign of an unusual event. Near the Nafha and Ketzi'ot prisons, there is an increased security presence.
Israel Police has also clarified that there has been no shooting incident in the area.
At just after 12:30p.m., it was announced that there is no longer concern fo a security incident in the area.
Earlier on Tuesday, security forces held an exercise in the area.
