White House Spokesman Richard Boucher said yesterday that President Bush is concerned over the recent deaths of PA residents resulting from IDF activities in Gaza. Some 15 terrorists have been killed in Israeli anti-terror operations over the past few days, and several civilians were killed in the preceding days. "We are still concerned... especially over thee killing of youngsters, which are caused by Israeli operations," Boucher said, but added, "We recognize Israel's right to take legitimate measures against terrorism. There can be no justification for the terrorism and violence that the Israelis have been forced to suffer."
Israeli officials will request 100 changes in the "Road Map" plan being prepared by the White House. The plan calls for the establishment of a temporary Palestinian state within a year, and a permanent one by 2005.
