The IDF has once again divided the Gaza Strip into several areas, preventing free travel between them. Soldiers are manning checkpoints at three spots along the main north-south highway. A similar measure was taken four separate times last year, IMRA reports, lasting each time for a number of days. The latest action was taken after Israeli forces carried out a major anti-terror offensive in Gaza on Tuesday night, which was in turn followed by Arab rocket attacks on Sderot and other Israeli targets. The closing of the highway prevents the terrorists from freely moving weapons and ammunition within the Gaza area.

The IDF continued catching and arresting terrorists in the Binyamin and Shomron regions last night, rounding up at least nine in Binyamin and two in the northern Shomron village of Tamoun. In Tul Karem, in western Shomron, a terrorist was shot dead by soldiers this morning after opening fire at them; no Israelis were hurt.
