Sara and Yona Bar are a young American couple living in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem. They dreamed of starting a family in Israel and were thrilled when, a year ago, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Miriam Chana.

They never dreamed that the day would come when they would have to flee Israel to save their daughter’s life.

A parent’s worst nightmare, Miriam Chana is suffering from cancer. The tiny, smiley baby has four large tumors on her kidneys.

Tragically, Miriam Chana has not responded to chemotherapy treatments at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem. Doctors urged the Bar family to fly to America to receive surgery to save the baby’s life.

The Bars have arrived in America, and have been given a terrifying ultimatum: Find $250,000 to afford the surgery or lose their daughter. Sara is a nurse and Yona is the manager of a store - the expenses are far beyond what they can realistically afford.

They are now in the hospital in Manhattan, praying for a miracle. Donations are being collected so that Miriam Chana can have the surgery to save her life. Every moment that ticks by until the full sum is collected is a tremendous weight on the family’s shoulders.
