Thirteen soldiers injured in yesterday's Golan Heights training accident remain hospitalized. Three were seriously wounded; the condition of one has improved, while another is listed as "very seriously" wounded. The others are in light and "moderate" condition. The soldiers were hurt when a junior officer, giving a class on RPGs (rocket propelled grenades), attempted to demonstrate the loading of an RPG inside a roofed structure, open on one end. For as yet unexplained reasons, the grenade exploded, causing the injuries. The officer's actions were described as "sheer stupidity," although it was noted that he was a "serious officer" who had fought on many fronts. An investigation is underway.
