Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre on Sunday published a video message on the occasion of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Memorial Day).

“Today, millions of Jews around the world will stop in a moment of heart-wrenching grief to remember the Shoah,” he said.

“We mourn the loss of six million Jews that the Nazis brutally murdered in the Holocaust, and honor the Jewish partisans who bravely faced down evil in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. But most of all, in our solemn reflection, we renew the pledge ‘Never Again,’” added Poilievre.

Noting the Hamas attack against Israel on October 7, the Canadian opposition leader said, “Almost seven months to the day, we witnessed the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The genocidal death cult Hamas has shown us that the evil that led to the Shoah still exists. Common sense Conservatives stand with the Jewish people and Israel in their right to destroy Hamas and bring home the hostages.”

He stressed, “The Jewish people have the right to live safely and peacefully in their ancestral homeland, and here in Canada, where we must stamp out antisemitism wherever and whenever it rears its ugly head.”
