Lipaz Tzadok, 25, an Israeli police officer, was killed on Thursday in a motorcycle accident in the city of Cancun on the eastern coast of Mexico. His uncle, 45, was seriously injured.

It is believed that the accident was caused after the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle, collided with a pavement and slipped.

The Israeli consul in Mexico is assisting in the transferring of Tzadok’s body to Israel.

The Israel Police described Tzadok as “a young and energetic detective at the beginning of his career in the police. He served regularly in the central unit in the Jerusalem district and loved his job, his friends, and the unit in which he served."

“Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Doron Turgeman, his commanders and policemen of his unit visited the family home. We will continue to accompany the family members in their difficult time and support them," the statement added.
