Ari Shpitz, a Givati soldier, who is considered one of the most severely wounded in the Gaza war, wavered between life and death for about six weeks, and regained full consciousness about two weeks ago.

Ari started his long journey of rehabilitation and his family was delighted to hear that he would celebrate his 22nd birthday, on the Passover Seder night, at home.

Tonight his mother wrote, "Mo’adim Lesimcha. Tonight we start counting the days until the holiday of Shavuot. Today is one day of the Omer. Passover, the Seder night and Ari's birthday were all wonderful, thank God. It's great to be home.”

“The Seder night was held only with the immediate family and this was exactly what we needed. We said the prayers for Passover at home and on the first day of Passover we say Hallel three times. This was so appropriate," she wrote.

Leah concluded, "We have a lot to be thankful for. One of the most moving moments was when Ari said the HaGomel blessing [said by someone who has been in a life-threatening situation and survived]. Ari and I are on our way back to rehabilitation by ambulance. We continue to pray that Ari will continue to get stronger and recover. Please pray for the full recovery of Moshe Aharon ben Leah Beila.”
