A tragic and sensitive case has just become public, where young children are experiencing the kind of trauma that no child should experience.
5 years ago, young father Shimon Levy*, died suddenly leaving 8 young children behind. Tragically, since their father's death, the widow has become reclusive. She hardly speaks, stays in bed all day, and leaves the responsibilities of the house to her oldest child - a young, now 13-year-old girl.
Understandably, this is way too much for the young girl to bear. She devotes herself to her siblings one hundred percent, tending to them when they cry, bathing them, and putting them to sleep. However, she admitted that they don’t have everything they need. The house barely functions.
A friend of the family who helps out when he can, shared, “I never realized the extent of their poverty and hardship. For the safety and wellbeing of the family, they can’t continue like this anymore.”
The 13-year-old girl, mature beyond her years, wrote touching words “I've grown up a bit, but I still feel like a child and worry about what will happen to my siblings when I get married, I worry how I'll get married. I think it's impossible to continue like this, the children don't get everything they need. I feel that I cannot continue alone and I am asking for more help.”
A campaign is currently running to raise urgently needed funds for the family. There is immense poverty in the home, and without help, the children will not have their basic needs met.
