Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant spoke on Thursday evening with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
This is the second discussion held between the Secretary and the Minister over the past week.
The Minister and Secretary discussed readiness for an Iranian attack against the State of Israel, which could lead to regional escalation. Minister Gallant detailed preparations, and emphasized that the State of Israel will not tolerate an Iranian attack on its territory.
Minister Gallant expressed his appreciation to the Secretary for deepening cooperation between the defense establishments of both countries, as well as between the IDF and U.S. CENTCOM.
The Minister of Defense reflected his commitment to the security of Israel’s citizens, as such, a direct Iranian attack on Israeli territory would require an appropriate Israeli response against Iran.
Minister Gallant expressed his appreciation to Secretary Austin for his personal commitment to the security of the State of Israel and for their close cooperation on a variety of security issues.
