Dozens of intelligence warnings of massive terrorist attacks caused the IDF to take the severe measure last night of imposing a closure on all the PA-controlled areas in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. The closure will remain in effect until Friday.

The government had originally approved the lifting of a number of restrictions on the Arab population in Yesha this week, in honor of the Muslim holiday of Id El Adha. In light of the numerous intelligence warnings of intended terror attacks in Israeli cities, the decision was made to impose a total closure on Yesha, as well as a naval blockade on the Gaza Strip. Passage in these areas will only be allowed for humanitarian purposes.

Over the past few days, Israeli forces have arrested at least four terrorists in the midst of preparing terror attacks - and three more since last night. This morning, IDF soldiers shot and killed an armed Palestinian terrorist who aroused their suspicions while walking along the security fence near the Kisufim Crossing; a Kalachnikov rifle was found on his body. In Shechem, a Fatah-Tanzim terrorist was killed trying to evade capture, only shortly before he was to carry out an attack. In Shechem, six terrorists were arrested last night, including one who was planning a suicide attack against Israelis, while in Jenin, three were apprehended, one of whom was the wife of a senior terrorist. Seven Hamas terrorists were arrested in Judea over the course of the night: six in Bethlehem and one near Hevron.
