Meganet, an Israeli-U.S. data security company, has developed an encryption technology that it claims is unbreakable, enabling governments and corporations to keep their data safely away from competitors, thieves and saboteurs. Israel21c.org reports that among those that believe in Meganet's ability to protect sensitive information is the U.S. government. The patented non-linear data mapping technology is called VME (Virtual Matrix Encryption), and creates exceptionally random cipher text combined with a one million-bit key - over 3,900 times larger than competitors' standard key. Meganet founder Saul Backal, a dual Israeli-U.S. citizen who was an IDF tank commander in the Lebanon war, says, "There is nothing stronger in existence."

Meganet, with 21 different products in all categories of the data security market, singles out its VME Office 2002 suite, a package of 10 different products offering solutions for all data security needs within an organization. Among its clients is the U.S. Government, whose order for information encryption and digital signatures for the 18,000 employees of the Department of Labor is expected to be worth a total of $20 million by the end of this year. Meganet has won three out of four tenders released by the US government in this sector last year.
