The Prime Minister's Office denies reports that Israel transferred 280 million shekels to the PA earlier this week. A senior PA source said that the transfer was of monies collected by Israel from tax revenues from PA laborers, and that it was the result of a meeting between Prime Minister Sharon and PA financial officer Salam Fiyad, who some say is the Americans' choice to succeed Yasser Arafat as leader of the Palestinian Authority.
