Uriel Shpielman, 28, of Kfar Darom, shot in the chest by a Palestinian terrorist this morning, is listed in "light-to-moderate" condition. He was on his way to the community's greenhouses when gunfire was opened upon him from a nearby illegally-built Arab building. Other residents of Kfar Darom rescued Shpielman under fire, and he was taken to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.
Residents of Kfar Darom, just to the northeast of the Gush Katif bloc of communities in Gaza, say that the army long refrained from demolishing the building from where the shots were fired because of the Supreme Court's opinion on the matter. After this morning's attack, however, army forces raided the building and, upon finding bullets and cartridges there, realized there was no alternative - and razed it. Asher Mivtzari of Kfar Darom told Arutz-7's Yosef Zalmanson, "There are many other dangerous buildings along the same road that the army wants to take down, but can't. Keep in mind that these are buildings that were built after the Oslo Accords, for this precise purpose of threatening our security."
