Twenty saplings that were planted two weeks ago, on Tu B'Shvat, in memory of fallen soldier Nadav Elad, were uprooted and taken from their place. The young trees were planted in Ein Lavan, south of Jerusalem between Orah and Aminadav, adjacent to the Arab villages of Walajeh and Batir. Family members of Nadav visited the site on Friday, and found that the saplings had been uprooted.



A state of high alert was declared for much of today for the Nachal I’ron (Wadi Ara) area in the north, between Hadera and Afula. Police received a warning of an impending terrorist attack, and a large contingent of security forces spread out over the region, and many intersections were blocked. The high alert was downgraded late this afternoon.



For the second time in three days, an IDF soldier was killed in a car accident. It happened this morning when a jeep carrying four soldiers overturned near Alei Zahav, in the western Shomron. One soldier was killed, and the others were injured - one seriously and one moderately. Two days ago, a soldier was killed when his truck flipped over in Gaza.
