The European Broadcasting Union (UBA) rejects calls to ban Israel's participation in Eurovision 2024 because of the war in Gaza.

Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands demanded clarification on the issue and the EBU replied that they will not prevent Israel from participating in the singing competition.

"The Eurovision event is a competition intended for public broadcasters from across Europe and the Middle East. It is a competition intended for broadcasters - not for governments - and the public broadcasting in Israel has been participating in the competition for fifty years."

"Israel complies with all the rules of the competition, and along with 36 other countries it will be able to participate in the competition next year. Eurovision remains a non-political event, which unites audiences around the world through music," the EBU added.

Although the selection procedure for the song with which Israel will participate in Eurovision has not yet begun, it is in first place in the betting table for the competition, followed by Ukraine.
