An uproar took place in the Albanian parliament as members of the opposition demanded that the head of the Parliament allow them to form various committees.

The diagreements reached such an extent that members of the parliament began piling chairs in the center of the parliamentary chamber to prevent speaker Lindita Nikolla from moving through it

Members of the parliament lit colored flares, and at one point a member of the parliament put cloths under the stacked chairs and attempted to ignite them.

Parliamentary staff intervened to control and eventually extinguish the flames.

A similar event took place two weeks ago when the ruling parties approved the country's budget and the opposition lit flares in protest.
