About a quarter of the new Knesset are totally new faces to Israeli politics, including approximately a dozen from the Likud and nine from Shinui. Eighteen of the new Likud MKs did not serve in the previous Knesset. The four MKs of Am Echad (One Nation) are an interesting line-up: Histadrut Labor Union Chief Amir Peretz; Ilana Cohen of Rishon LeTzion, chairperson of the Nurses Organization; former Shas MK David Tal; and former Labor MK and Ethiopian Jewish immigrant Addisu Messele.
The seven MKs of the National Union party will be:
* Avigdor Lieberman, founder of Yisrael Beiteinu and a resident of Nokdim in Judea;
* Benny Elon, who took over from the assassinated Rehavam Ze'evi as head of Moledet and a resident of Beit El;
* Yuri Stern of Yisrael Beiteinu;
* Tzvi Hendel of Tekumah, of Gush Katif;
* Michael Nudelman of Yisrael Beiteinu;
* Uri Ariel of Tekumah, who lives in Kfar Adumim;
* and ex-Chief IDF Medical Officer Aryeh Eldad of Moledet, also of Kfar Adumim.
Although the National Union had a total of seven MKs in the previous Knesset as well, 4 were from Yisrael Beiteinu and one was from Moledet, while now the numbers will be 3 and 2, respectively. Waiting in line in the 8th-10th spots are MK Eliezer (Cheetah) Cohen and Esterina Tartman of Yisrael Beiteinu, and Uri Bank of Moledet. Tekumah's #3 man is Dudu Saadah, in the 13th spot.
The National Religious Party's Knesset Members, as it stands now, will be Effie Eitam, Zevulun Orlev, Sha'ul Yahalom, Rabbi Yitzchak Levy, and new-entry Gila Finkelstein, with Nissan Slomiansky waiting in line. United Torah Judaism will field Yaakov Litzman, Rabbi Avraham Ravitz, Meir Porush, Moshe Gafni, and new-entry Yisrael Eichler; Shmuel Halpert did not make it in. Yisrael B'Aliyah, after Natan Sharansky's resignation (see below), will be represented by Yuli-Yoel Edelstein and Marina Solodkin.
