Health Minister Uriel Busso revealed on Sunday that 72-year-old Adina Moshe from Kibbutz Nir Oz, who was freed from Hamas captivity this past Friday, acted nobly when she tried to persuade Hamas to release another hostage instead of her.
"I met Adina Moshe who returned from Hamas captivity," said Minister Busso. "Adina told me about an argument she had with the terrorist at the time of the release, and asked him to release another woman in her place - older than her and in worse condition. This is an essence of the heroism of these people."
Moshe’s granddaughter said, “My grandmother is a strong woman, she was taken to Gaza after all her jewelry was taken from her and as she was watching a terrorist entering her home and making sure my grandfather was dead. She was held in very difficult conditions, she is still digesting the fact that she is back and still has not decided where she will live. It is very difficult for her to be happy, her house burned to the ground, she lost her husband who was really her best friend, so it will be a long and difficult road. It's a rehabilitation that will take time."
Moshe returned as part of the first group of hostages, which took place within the framework of the ceasefire. 12 other women and children were freed that day.
