Dozens of residents of Yavne today (Sunday) welcomed Danielle Aloni and her 6-year-old daughter Emilia, who were released from Hamas captivity, standing on the sides of the road, waving Israeli flags and singing.
Danielle Aloni (45) from Yavne was one of the hostages who appeared in the psychological terrorist video released by Hamas. As mentioned, she was released together with her 6-year-old daughter Emilia.
The two were kidnapped from the house of her aunt, Sharon Aloni Cunio, in Nir Oz. Sharon is still in Hamas captivity, along with her three-year-old twin daughters, Ella and Yuli, and their father, David Cunio.
In an interview that grandmother Riki gave to Israel Hayom, she said: "Amelia is one of our three granddaughters who were kidnapped. Once every two weeks, our daughter Sharon comes with the twins from Nir Oz, and then the whole family gets together – including Amelia and my daughter Danielle, who live in Yavne."
She continued: "We eat Friday dinner in the garden, and we have a lot of games, toys, and bicycles for our granddaughters around us. I enjoy seeing my granddaughters playing together. This is my greatest pleasure. I am really looking forward to their return so that we can do it again."
"When I see all their pictures and belongings, I want to cry. I miss them." She also told us about her dream: "I dream that they will move here when they return until they have a new home."
