Saad V’Marpeh volunteers were at Barzilai Hospital down south in Ashkelon, serving a fresh hot meal to wounded soldiers and hospital patients.
The patients sat down at a homey set table and were served fresh meat, chicken, rice, sides, and dips. It wasn’t just the food - it was the warm smile and loving camaraderie that battle-weary soldiers needed to lift their spirits after everything they’ve seen.
These soldiers were coming from the battlefield where they hadn’t had a fresh meal in weeks. "Coming from the battlefield and more recently from a hospital bed, these kinds of meals give me life."

Saad V’Marpeh is a charity organization which has responded to the needs of soldiers by going out onto the front line. In the past few days, they’ve transported 473 injured soldiers to the hospital, served 2,400 meals on the front line, and delivered 1,150 care packages to soldiers.
Rabbi Moti Fried, head of Saad V’Marpeh, said: "We’ve been working overtime these past few weeks, but due to the extreme circumstances, our resources are depleting rapidly, and we need help to keep going."
